Sharika Comfort,
Co-Founder & Owner

Sharika Comfort is the Co-Founder and current owner of the Educated Hoodlums Brand, a consultancy dedicated to empowering small to medium-sized businesses and nonprofit organizations through strategic branding, marketing, and community engagement. A native of Richmond, Virginia, Sharika brings a rich academic background with a Bachelor’s degree in English and Communications from Johnson C. Smith University and a Master of Arts in English and African American Literature from North Carolina A&T State University. She also holds a certification in Nonprofit Management from Duke University.

Sharika's expertise is deeply rooted in community organizing and advocacy, having been trained through Leadership for Educational Equity’s (LEE) National Organizing Workshop and the Midwest Academy for Community Organizing. With over a decade of experience working with nonprofit organizations in areas such as education, affordable housing, and food security, she has successfully led multiple issue-based organizing campaigns resulting in significant policy wins in Charlotte, NC, and across the state of North Carolina. Sharika has also facilitated over a dozen community organizing trainings.

As a former university professor and Teach for America alumna, Sharika leverages her experience in education to bring a data-driven approach to her work in marketing, media relationships, community engagement, and fundraising. Her strategies are informed by a thorough understanding of data, enabling her to help businesses and nonprofit organizations sustain, grow, and thrive. Sharika’s dedication and expertise make her a valuable asset to the Educated Hoodlums Brand and the communities she serves.

Educated Hoodlums Brand, uses a contractor consultant business model. This means that most of our team members have additional and/or independent ventures, with niche focuses. Unless you request a particular individual, the team members on your project will be based on project type, budget, needs, and timeline.
